A kickoff to senior year
Each year we start the new CE Model Team with an intro shoot at the beginning of summer before senior year begins. It’s the first time the girls meet each other, hang out in person, and get comfortable in front of my camera before their own senior sessions. There’s something magical about the very first time the team walks into the same room together. It's the day everyone meets in person for the first time. The day faces from social media turn into real friends. And by the end there is so much laughing, talking, trading numbers & social handles. I always love the intro shoot so much and this one was one of my favorites I have done over the last 8 years. We had a necklace charm bar & I made custom hoodies and senior boxes for each girl.
More than a simple shoot
I always strive to have shoots that appeal to all of my seniors while still having a clear and creative vision. The intro shoot is always laid back and the perfect way to get cute photos while still being able connect with the girls and have time to learn about each other.
I did this shoot in an Indianapolis studio and had all of the girls wear a plain shirt and jeans (something everyone already had in their closets). Then I asked each girl to bring 3-5 items that speak to their personality. They brought everything from sports equipment, their favorite 7Brew order, fav flowers, to their childhood stuffed animal. They took the theme and ran with it. It made the whole shoot feel cohesive while still being important to each of them. They each got photos out of it that are also important to them.
While they were waiting their turn for their individual photos, I also had a necklace charm bar set up. Each girl created a unique and custom charm necklace to wear & take home. They all turned out so cute!!
Individual & Group Photos
A perk of being on the model team is senior photos in every season. At each group shoot you attend we do individual photos & group photos. I host a group shoot in summer, fall, winter and spring. Then we end the year with a cap & gown group shoot! This really is the best way to document your full senior year!
Custom Hoodies + Senior Boxes
One of my favorite parts of this shoot were the senior boxes. I surprised each girl with a custom CE hoodie and a welcome card, and seeing everyone open them at the same time was such a fun moment. The hoodies were instantly a favorite and it made the whole day feel official, like okay, this is our team. This is senior year. This is really happening. I love giving the girls something personal to start the year with and the hoodies felt like the perfect match.
